Condition: sections of the black enamel have been restored, properly done with high-temperature fired vitreous enamel (fused powdered glass); the restoration uses the same material as the original and cannot be distinguished from the original enamel in appearance or durability. Some age-related wear and loss to small areas of the black enamel (mostly near the hoop edges). General age surface wear throughout. The inscription and decorations are overall well-preserved and still crisp. No signs of later resizing or restoration to the gold body itself.
