Weight: 2.2 grams (due to the openwork construction; ring is not flimsy or tiny)
Inscription: [Remember M. W. 81]
Marks:
[PR] initials for an unidentified goldsmith; a late 17th c mourning ring in the British Museum also bears the same mark (see AF.1540)
Width of hoop: 4.6 mm
Depth of hoop: 2.5 mm
Condition: original hair to interior has been lost or removed. Otherwise this ring is in pristine condition for its age. Some minor age-related light surface wear, some tiny nibbling to edges. Details and inscription are very well preserved and still crisp. No evidence of later resizing or restoration.
