Condition: overall in good antique condition. There is general age-related surface wear to the gold, including faint scratches, nicks, and a small area of scattered scuffing near the hinge. There is a small surface dent at the back. The hinge is joined by tiny copper or bronze pins. Under 60x magnification, I can spot wear along the garnet’s facet edges. One of the turquoise has a chip at the edge. Seven of the turquoise show varying degrees of age-related color change and surface corrosion (see picture).
