1898 Victorian Turquoise Diamond Ring

A sparkling and classic late Victorian British-made ring, of half-hoop form set with alternating Persian turquoise cabochons and old European cut diamonds in a raised gallery. The solid 18k gold setting and shank are beautifully enhanced by the ornate gallery scrollwork and chased shoulders. The inside shank is fully hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office and the year 1898. Overall this is a wonderful example of turn-of-the-century jewelry, with its well-tempered mix of cool elegance and glamour.
