Condition: the gold half-loop to back is a later addition to replace the missing original hook fitting. This piece came to me mounted as a brooch; my jeweler has removed the pin. The back has about 9 tiny pin-sized cavities that were filled in. A 4.8 mm circular amethyst and a tiny 2.5 mm amethyst are significantly chipped. About 21 of the 134 gems have a conchoidal-type shallow side chip. The rest of the gems retain their original shape without significant flaw, though under loupe magnification I can spot age-related surface wear and abrasions to the facet junctions. The silver has age-related tarnish and patina.
