Description
Ring size: USA 9.25
Materials: green foiled quartz (tested), solid 14k yellow gold (unmarked; tested with electronic gold tester and muriatic-nitric acid)
Weight: 7.6 grams
Workmanship origin: Italian; found in Turin, Italy
Marks: [TO] (struck to back of shank), probably for Torino (Turin), Italy
Dimension of ring face: 25 x 21 mm
Height of ring face: 9.4 mm
Dimension of quartz: varies from 4 x 4.5 mm largest, to 3 x 3.25 mm smallest (21 total, all table cut)
Width of shank: 2.6 – 3.3 mm
Thickness of shank: 0.8 – 1 mm
Condition: there is a 6 x 8 mm area of unevenness to the ring back, likely an original production flaw. This ring has been resized once in the past; the back shank shows a joint. The ring head makes a faint rattle when shaken hard, likely from trapped dirt/debris. There is age-related tarnish and aging to the color foil, resulting in color variations. Otherwise this ring is in excellent condition for the age. The stones are all original, with no evidence of replacement or repairs. No chips to eye-visible damage to the quartz. Under 40x loupe magnification, I can spot surface wear and abrasions to the facet junctions.
