1900s Riker Bros 14k Turquoise Conversion Ring

A unique and stunning antique conversion ring, consisting of a c.1900s Riker Bros. 14k gold brooch set with pearls and turquoise professionally laser welded to a heavy 14k gold shank with trifurcated shoulders. The stones and craftsmanship of the ring face are entirely original, and is of a very fine quality consistent with Riker Bros. jewelry. Deeply chased and repoussé worked leafy tendrils curl about an arabesque-shaped ring face, while the center is set with a stunning turquoise cabochon from American mines (like Royston). The surface has been acid treated for a matte, high-carat “bloomed” finish. The reverse is marked with Riker Bros’ famous saber mark.

Founded in 1846, Riker Brothers grew to become one of the most prominent American jewelry firms in the early 20th century. They are particularly notable for creating renaissance revival and art nouveau jewelry of very high quality. In 1916, at the Newark Industrial Exposition, the pieces exhibited by Riker Brothers included platinum jewelry with diamonds, pearls, and colored gemstones.
