1907 Antique Sapphire Ring 18k Gold Birmingham

An alluring British-made antique sapphire ring, fully hallmarked through the Birmingham assay office for the year 1907, and crafted of solid 18k yellow gold. A 0.5 carat natural ceylon sapphire is framed by a halo of natural saltwater pearls, the cluster further enhanced by an reticulated flower-like openwork setting framed by chased scrollwork decorative shoulders. The combination of ceylon sapphire with pearls and rich yellow gold makes for a deeply lovely color palette.

Under natural lighting, the coloring of the sapphire is a vibrant medium-blue bordering on an cornflower indigo. Weighing a good 4.1 grams, this ring is quite solid and well-made.

Condition: Under a jeweler’s loupe, I can see some wear along the facet edges of the sapphire (not really noticeable to the naked eye). Otherwise this ring is in excellent antique condition with all parts original.
