Description
Date: c. 1930-40s, late Art Deco period
Ring size: USA 6, UK L, EU 51.5
Materials: synthetic (lab created) ruby, diamonds, black enamel, 14k gold (marked & tested)
Weight: 6.5 grams
Marks: [14k] for solid 14k gold
Dimension of ring face: 19 x 16 mm
Height of ring face: 9 mm
Dimension of ruby: 12 x 10 mm oval cabochon (approx. 9 carats)
Diameter of diamonds: eight at 1.5 mm (approx. 0.12 ctw)
Width of shank: 1.5 – 3.4 mm
Thickness of shank: 1 – 1.8 mm
Condition: There are some shallow surface losses to the black enamel halo, and general age-related wear to the gold. The ruby cabochon is securely mounted within the setting and there are no prongs missing. However, when tapped, the cabochon does make a slight jiggling noise. If this is a bother, my jeweler can apply a tiny amount of jeweler’s epoxy to the back of the stone, which will take away the movement.
