1930s Pear-cut Opal Ring with Enameled Diamond Halo

A stunning c. 1930 – 40s late Art Deco statement ring, set in the center with a large 2.5 carat pear-shaped natural solid opal and framed with a halo of brilliant-cut diamonds interspersed with blue enamel work. The ring shoulder is further decorated with inlaid blue enamel in the Victorian “Taille D’ Epargne” manner. The opal is quite lovely to behold in reality, and has visible green-blue flames that change shade to orange-red depending on the angle held against the light. This ring is heavy and well-made, weighing a substantial 6.8 grams even at size 5.5.
