Description
Date: c. 1690-1700s slide; modern shank
Ring size: USA 7, UK N, EU 54 (resizable with laser welder)
Materials: quartz crystal, silk, foil, hair, solid 18k gold slide, solid 15k gold shank (unmarked; tested with electronic gold tester and nitric-muriatic acid)
Weight: 6.8 grams
Workmanship origin: Britain
Dimension of ring head: 21.9 x 19 mm
Height of ring face: 8.6 mm
Width of shank: 2.8 – 3.4 mm
Thickness of shank: 1.1 mm
Condition: age-related light surface wear to the crystal (light scratches and facet junction abrasions visible under loupe magnification). The crystal is however still sharp under the naked eye and quite lively. There’s soiling, tarnish, and fading to the interior composition, especially to the hair and silk backing (faded). The heart and some of the laurel leaves have tarnished to a crimson red, giving the flaming heart a bleeding heart appearance.
