Art Deco Moorish Revival Opal Ring

A marvelous and gorgeous 1920s Art Deco ring, featuring a double-layer reticulated openwork ring face inlaid with black enamel and set with five intensely hued blue-green opals. The intricate arrangement and design of the ‘Taille d’Epargné’ enamel work appear to be influenced by the Moorish Revival movement, which was very popular during the 1920s; elements of Moresque design can be found throughout Art Deco architecture and decorative arts. The second layer of gold beneath the ring face provides the openwork design a sparkling background.
