Diameter of diamonds: 1.75 mm, 24 total (approx. 0.24 ctw)
Diameter of rubies: 1.75 mm, 24 total (approx. 0.72 ctw)
Condition: the pendant was once a bracelet clasp; the back is concave to accommodate the curvature of a wrist and both sides contain 12 mm cavities for clasp tongues. The glass cover has a few age-related scratches, though there are no cracks or chips. The gold frame shows surface wear, fine scratches, and two 1.2 mm pin-sized dents. Otherwise this portrait miniature is in great condition for its age; the diamonds and rubies all appear original, well matched in cut and character, and securely mounted in original cut-down collets. There is no sign of modification or restoration to the setting, frame, or portrait itself. The bail is a later addition.
