Description
Materials: black-dot paste (flint glass), seed pearl, miniature beads, silver
Weight: 27 grams
Workmanship origin: probably German
Height of pendant: 77.4 mm (including bow element), 53 mm (bottom oval only)
Width of pendant: 42 mm
Depth of pendant: 6 mm
Dimension of miniature-work scene: 39 x 28 mm
Condition: some age-related dust and soiling to the glass interior. None of the miniature-work elements are loose or moving around, but a few seed pearls are off-position (for example, the top of the canopy). Natural age-related discoloration and oxidation to the silver; some areas have naturally aged to a dark gun-powder gray. The black-dot paste are generally in great condition, without eye-visible or significant chips; under 40x loupe magnification, I can spot some facet-junction abrasions and nibbles. The foiling is still bright, but a few small areas show age discoloration (minor). Cover glass smooth and without significant scratches or flaws (normal age-related surface wear). The pendant back has a 10 x 10 mm area with surface scratches. Overall, well preserved in it original historic condition without later modifications.
