Date: c. 1840 ring setting, c. 1800 microivory
Ring size: USA 5.5, UK K, EU 50 (resizable with limitations)
Materials: ivory, ground cobalt, solid 18k yellow gold (unmarked; tested with electronic gold tester & nitric-muriatic acid)
Weight: 5.2 grams
Dimension of ring face: 19 x 14.9 mm
Max. width of shoulders: 12.7 mm
Width of shank: 2.35 – 5 mm
Thickness of shank: 1 – 1.35 mm
Condition: the microivory carving is a transplant from a broken c. 1800 pendant; the c. 1840 ring setting originally contained a portrait miniature (damaged beyond repair and thus replaced). Otherwise this piece is in excellent condition. The intricately ornamented gold setting is still well preserved with its details sharp and unmarred by later repolishing. No eye-visible issues with the cover glass. The microivory carving, aside from transplantation, is entirely original to c. 1800 and does not have later added elements.
