Description
Materials: natural saltwater pearl (non-cultured wild, Pinctada species, GIA report 2223840205), rose cut diamonds, rubies, solid 18k yellow gold (unmarked; tested with electronic gold tester), solid 14k gold (later circular bail only)
Weight: 6.3 grams
Workmanship origin: probably French
Height: 30.8 mm
Width: 15.3 mm
Depth: 10 mm
Dimension of pearl: approx. 15.8 x 10.78 mm (depth ~7 mm; roughly 6-8 ct)
Diameter of diamonds: 1.5-1.6 mm
Diameter of rubies: 1.25 mm (smallest) – 1.6 mm (largest)
Condition: the circular bail is a later addition— the pendant came to me with a stylistically mismatched modern bail, so my jeweler replaced said bail with the present circular loop (the gold itself is antique, sourced from a solid 14k antique stick pin). One of the rubies to the edge of the dog’s collar is possibly a replacement. A slight split to one of the bail hinge knuckles (outer layer only; the structure remains secure). Some age-related light surface wear and patina to the gold. The pearl is very well preserved without visible surface flaws.
