Description
Date: c. 1900, early 20th century
Materials: enamel, old mine cut diamond, pearls, solid 14k yellow gold throughout (marked & tested) (please note: accompanying chain is 10k)
Weight: 5.3 grams (3.4 g pendant, 1.9 g earrings)
Workmanship origin: likely American
Dimension of the pendant: 24.5 x 20.5 mm
Dimension of the earrings: 20 x 11.5 mm
Diameter of the diamond: 2.5 mm (approx. 0.06 ct)
Diameter of the pearls: 1.86 mm
Condition: both the pendant and earrings were originally brooches; the back half-hoop bail and earring posts are modern additions. The very edge of one of the earring clover petals has a slight nibble; otherwise the enamel is surprisingly well-preserved for the set, free from restorations or significant flaws. The diamond has an indented natural to the girdle, which under loupe-magnification looks like a very small/shallow chip. There is age-related patina and light surface wear throughout.
