Edwardian 18k Persian Turquoise Bombe Ring

A large and heavy early 20th century Italian ‘bombe’ statement ring, of solid 18k yellow gold (marked and tested), and pavé-set with a cluster of natural untreated Persian turquoise cabochons. This type of turquoise bombe cluster ring is a popular and sought-after staple of 19th and early 20th-century jewelry. What makes this particular example exceptional are the high carat gold (most English-made examples are set in 9k gold), substantial weight (8.2 grams), the marvelous flower-blossom detailing to each pavé setting beading, and the fact that this ring is all original (many pave turquoise rings of this design are conversions from brooches and buttons). The large ring face makes a stunning statement of ethereal turquoise blues.
