Georgian Blue Enamel Diamond Ring

A gorgeous c. 1800-1810s Georgian diamond cluster ring, set with a central 4.5 mm old mine cut diamond against a blue enamel ground and encloistered within a halo of chunky old cut diamonds. As per common practice for the period, the diamonds have been foiled and mounted against a sturdy 15k rose gold closed-back setting. The ring shoulders are particularly charming with their C-scrolls and fluted detailing. This feature is highly representative of neoclassical design; the same motifs can be found in regency furniture dating to the 1810s.
