Weight: 14 grams and 13.6 grams; 27.6 grams as a pair
Workmanship origin: likely Italian
Diameter of rosette jewels: 34 mm and 33.6 mm
Dimension of rubies: 14 total (seven per jewel) —
Approx. weight of rubies: 2.34 ctw
Dimension of diamonds: 48 total
Condition: due to their historic character, the gems are flawed by modern gemological standards— the rubies have natural inclusions, including a few with surface reaching fractures. Under loupe examination, three of the rubies have a small chip at the corner, while most have light surface wear and facet junction abrasions. The diamonds are fairly flawed with inclusions and other flaws like tiny nibbles, cavities, fissures, and edge chips. The diamond foiling has tarnished in many areas. However, for the age, the gems are in great condition and are all original, with no signs of later replacement. Aside from tiny edge nibbles, the settings are in good condition. There’s general age-related surface wear and patina throughout. Aside from the later added back gold brooch pins, the jewels are in great original condition with no major eye-visible flaws or modifications.
