Date: c. 1830-50s, early Victorian period (diamond bow); the shank is a later addition
Size: USA 8, UK P, EU 56.5 (resizable | complimentary free resizing available)
Materials: natural earth-mined diamonds, solid 14k gold shank (marked & tested), 9k rose gold topped with silver (bow only).
Weight: 7 grams
Dimension of bow: 28.5 x 33 mm
Diameter of diamonds: 1.25 – 2.25 mm (65 rose cuts total, approx. 0.5 – 0.75 ctw)
(Very) approx. color & clarity of diamonds: Varies – KLM, VS – I clarity (mostly eye-clean, without noticeable carbon inclusions)
Width of shank: 2 mm
Thickness of shank: 0.8 – 0.9 mm
Condition: excellent antique condition. All 65 original diamonds are present and secure. Overtime, the silver has oxidized to a deep gunpower gray; I have not cleaned or repolished the silver because of the attractive contrast it makes with the diamonds. The back of the bow shows two flat tiny areas, from where the brooch pin and clasp had been sheared off. Under 60x magnification, I can see that some of the silver foiling to the back of the diamonds shows age crazing (not visible to the naked eye).
