Victorian 18k Pave Diamond & Amethyst Solitaire Initial ‘B’ Ring

A gorgeous c. 1860 – 80s antique Victorian ring, of solitaire form with a large 2 carat amethyst inlaid with tiny pave-set old mine cut diamonds to form the initial “B”, and framed by wide laurel leaf like decorative shoulders. The gold tests to be solid 18k. Weighing at an unusual 5 grams, this ring is quite solid and well-made.

Weight: 5 grams

Dimension of amethyst solitaire: 8 x 10.5 mm, approx. 2 carats

Width of shank: 2.2 – 7 mm

Thickness of shank: 1.2 – 2.5 mm

Condition: excellent antique condition, immediately wearable. However, please note the following minor flaws:

1. It’s difficult to tell, but one of the tiny pave diamonds may be chipped

2. There are two pinpoint-sized tiny nicks to the surface of the amethyst

3. The gold has some age-related surface wear

4. The ring has been sized down before, and the inner shank shows a neat joint line.
