Date: 1879-1880s (dated via patent mark)
Ring size: USA 7, UK N, EU 54 (not resizable due to full-eternity design)
Materials: solid 14k rose gold (unmarked; tested with electronic gold tester and nitric-muriatic acid)
Weight: 4.8 grams
Marks: [Pat. Aug 26 ‘79] American patent mark struck to interior; corresponds to patent US219008A granted to John Obrig of Newark, NJ on 26 Aug 1879.
Inscription: [B. C. B.] initials engraved to interior
Width of band: 9.3 mm
Thickness of band: 1 mm
Condition: this ring came to me with an extra section of gold added by a previous owner to size up the ring. My jeweler has taken out this extra segment to restore the ring to its original appearance. There is a slight flaw to the chased texture of one leaf. Normal age-related light surface wear throughout. Otherwise this ring is in excellent antique condition.
