Description
Date: 1880s, late Victorian era
Ring Size: USA 12, UK X, EU 67 (This ring has been sized up significantly in the past, so it’s possible to size down about 4 sizes. If your ring size is smaller than 8, silicone ring size reducers or gold beads welded to the inner shank are further options. Please note that if my jeweler does the resizing work for you, there is a 2-3 week wait time, and the ring would not be returnable due to it being a personalized custom order)
Materials: lapis lazuli, solid 10k rose gold (unmarked; tested with nitric & muriatic acid)
Weight: 5 grams
Diameter of ring face: 13.2 mm
Diameter of lapis lazuli: 11.8 mm
Length of decorative shoulders: 12 mm
Width of shank: 3.15 – 3.6 mm
Thickness of shank: 0.9 – 1.2 mm
Condition: overall in great antique condition. Under 60x loupe magnification, I can spot some light age-related surface wear to the lapis stone. There is a natural fissure/inclusion that runs through the surface (not noticeable with the naked eye); it appears tight and shallow, and does not compromise the structural integrity of the stone. The lapis is not dull and still retains its surface shine. There is some expected surface wear to the gold, commensurate with age. Due to the ring having been sized up in the past, there is a section of added gold to the back shank (see pictures); if you intend to size this ring back down, this section would of course be removed.
