Condition: overall in excellent antique condition. The onyx ring face has one very tiny ‘fleabite’ nibble at the edge (visible under loupe magnification, but difficult to spot with the naked eye); otherwise, the onyx is in beautiful condition without flaws. There are some age-related surface wear and scratches to the gold surface, including a small area to the back of the ring where the gold has been worn down by a previous owner or appraiser to certify the material as solid gold. The glass cover to the memorial compartment is affixed to the gold frame with little notches. It is secure but rattles slightly when shaken; if desired, my jeweler can take out the rattle by affixing the glass to the frame with jeweler’s epoxy.
